a) Analytical support in the promotion of higher education in technical specializations in Uzbekistan
b) Support in establishment of partnerships with the industry and HEIs
c) Identification of best options for increasing access to higher education, particularly for females
DESCRIPTION OF ACTUAL SERVICES PROVIDED IN THE ASSIGNMENT:
Implement mixed-method research that includes both quantitative and qualitative components. Assess the general situation regarding access to STEM specialties and identify the main factors affecting students' expectations and their decision to enter (or not enter) relevant disciplines. Analysis of secondary data on the level of involvement of students in different STEM specialties. Design a map of existing career opportunities in the field of STEM and develop recommendations and promotional materials based on the results of the research. Representative survey of families in Uzbekistan (5000 respondents). Design a sample and protocol for content analysis. Train the data collection team. Collect the data. Clean and prepare the data. Code the data for qualitative research in Nvivo/Dedoose. Analyze the content of the data in STATA or R. Analyze the survey data in STATA or R. Analyze the qualitative data in Nvivo/Dedoose. Develop recommendations to promote better understanding and interaction between the HEIs and employers and increase the interest and involvement of women in Uzbekistan in STEM. Prepare the analytical report. Prepare a visual presentation of research results using multimedia tools. Prepare a scientific/analytical article for the promotion and popularization of research results. Prepare visual materials: billboards, booklets (in both Russian and Uzbek languages) promoting STEM education. Prepare promotional video clips (in both Russian and Uzbek languages) promoting STEM education. Organize a conference for local experts and national stakeholders in the field of STEM education and spread awareness of educational and career opportunities in the field.
